Elizabeth Borden took an ax, and gave her mother 40 whacks. And, when the job was nicely done, she gave her father 41!
Yesterday in old Fall River
Mr. Andrew Borden died
And he got his daughter, Lizzie
On a charge of homicide
Some folks say she didn't do it
And others say of course she did
But they all agree, Miss Lizzie B
Was a problem kinda kid!

On August 4, 1892, Lizzie Andrew Borden allegedly killed her father and step-mother with an ax. The following June, after a sensational trial, she was acquitted of the charges. After the acquittal, Lizzie Borden changed her name to Lizbeth A. Borden. She lived out her life with her sister Emma in Fall River and when she died, she was buried along with her sisters, mother, step-mother, and father in the family plot in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.
Today I visited Fall River, Massachusetts. I went to the house where Andrew Borden and his wife were murdered, and also the cemetery where the entire family is buried. The house is now a small museum and a bed and breakfast.

The Oak Grove was a huge, beautiful cemetery. There were a lot of old, interesting graves. It is very well-kept!
